Ginger Mastor, AKA Ginger Mama, the great Mojo Poppett crafter! Ginger Mama
has studied numerous spiritual paths for over 15 years and was first introduced
to Voodoo and poppetts over 5 years ago after reading the book Jambalaya,
by Luisha Teish. Louisa Teish inspired Ginger Mama with the idea of the "little
Soul doll" or the "petit-bon-ange" and started crafting her famous
poppetts.
Her spiritual philosophy is all inclusive, incorporating Goddess, Wiccan, and Vodou beliefs/practice. Quote: "I believe divinity is inherent in both the organic and inorganic, and we as a species are spiritually connected with all creatures and matter in the universe".
Initially, she just made one poppet for herself and brought it to work for inspiration and support. Shortly after, friends and co-workers asked her to make poppetts for them and the Lwa took notice!
In January of 2004 her newly wed sister and brother in-law made a serendipitous visit to Erzulie's Authentic Voudou where they met Anna. Ginger began making poppetts of the Lwa for Anna shortly thereafter and has been loving every minute of it.
She truly believes after years of trying to find herself and her niche, she has finally done so in the making of these mysterious and powerful creatures. She custom crafts Erzulie's Poppetts based upon Anna's specification and design with the proper herbs, roots and fetishes to properly represent the Lwa.
Ginger Mama holds a Masters Degree in Psychology and Social Work. As the proud
owner of a black Arabian horse, Ginger is an avid equestrian and animal lover!
